Bermuda Could Enter the Online Gambling Market
As many countries are leaving the online gambling market, or placing restrictions on certain aspects of the market, one country is wanting in on the action. Bermuda many be interested making the large amounts of money that can be earned from online gambling. The government of the island has been looking into entering the market.

Other islands such as Costa Rica, Antigua and Barbuda have done well in the online gambling market that Bermuda has taken notice. A great deal of revenue could be made that would help the economy of Bermuda.

The former Tourism Minister for Bermuda, Renee Webb commented on bringing online gambling to Bermuda: “I was publicly in support of legalizing gambling. Firstly, because it had already existed through bingo, horse racing, football pools, and Crown and Anchor.”

Although online casinos are the main focus, land casinos may also be in the future of the island as well. Ewart Brown is the Premier of Bermuda which is the Minister of Tourism and Transport. Brown stated recently that they would be holding a feasibility study on gaming that will start next week. When asked what the study could lead to Brown stated: “Well I don’t know. I don’t know that it’s going to be big casino opening up. We are studying everything from Internet gambling to lotteries.”
