California Casino Operators Unite to Lobby for Online Gambling Legalization
The list is growing of supports for legalized online gambling in California. Several tribes in the state who run casinos are working together to push changes in legislation. The Morongo Band of Mission Indians is the latest addition of supporters.

The Morongo tribe and the card rooms in California all are angry about the offshore internet gambling operations that take potential customers away from them. If laws were changed these operators would be able to drive out illegal online gambling that is taking place.

The state of California is in the forefront when it comes to gambling and with the support of governor Arnold Schwarzenegger; Indian tribes are continually opening new casinos. Hopefully the governor will change laws that have to do with online gambling and other states will follow suit.

A spokesman for Morongo, Patrick Dorinson commented: “it’s a way to head off competition. This would be a game for Californians run by Californians. In a state strapped for cash, this will definitely bring in revenue.”
