Casino Card Cheater Admits Scams in United States and Canada
A large casino gambling scam was busted some time ago and twenty six people have pleaded guilty to a wide variety of charges for their involvement in the cheating scam. Tai Khiem Tran is the most recent person to plead guilty in the casino scam and he has admitted to the scams he participated in.Casinos in Canada and the United States and over one million dollars are believed to have been won from the casinos where the scam took place. Dealers, supervisors and customers were all in on the cheating scam.
The players knew which cards were coming and when they would be drawn by using different shuffling techniques by the dealers. On one occasion almost $900,000 was won during the scam. The casino did catch on and the police were brought in to investigate.
Tran confessed to scamming a casino in Canada and six in the state of California when he was part of a crew of scammers. This took place between 2002 and 2005. Tran must repay over $800,000 that he stole from the casinos and his luxury home and cars will be forfeited. Tran is facing a maximum of twenty years in prison.
