Four New Co-Sponsors for Frank’s Online Gambling Bill
Four state representatives have signed on to support Representative Barney Frank’s efforts to overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. This week Frank has new co-sponsors for his latest online gambling bill. Fifty-eight co-sponsors now support Frank’s efforts and the most recent co-sponsors are: Representative Lynn C. Woolsey of California, Representative Christopher S. Murphy of Connecticut, Representative William Lacy Clay of Missouri and Representative Adam B. Schiff of California.
Frank has stated that he plans on bringing the Internet gambling debate to the forefront of Congress this fall. The UIGEA has been in news as of late because of the bank accounts that were recently seized by authorities in the United States. The accounts seized were connected to payouts for US online casino customers.
Hopefully Frank will be able to gain some headway in his quest to overturn the UIGEA. He has many supporters helping him with his cause and hopefully this fall we will begin to see results in the United States.
