Government Bans Casinos and Online Gambling in Russia
All over the world countries are making a decision; whether or not to allow gambling. Some countries decide to allow online and land gambling while others decide to make it illegal. One country who recently made a decision to ban casinos and online gambling is Russia.

A new law has taken effect as of last night that will move casinos and gambling halls out of major cities in Russia. This includes the capital, Moscow, as well. The new law has moved any gambling activities to four regions that are located far away from the capital.

The new law also bans online gambling and other public sites where gambling may be available. The ban has brought worries from critics of the bill who say that over 300,000 jobs will be lost. They also say that the gambling industry will also move underground as organized criminals begin gambling operations.

The law was suggested to government officials back in 2006 around the same time that the UIGEA was passed in America. It has taken three years for the law to be passed in Russia.
