Harrah’s Entertainment To Jump Into Europe’s Online Poker Market
According to some recent reports and gossip, Harrah’s Entertainment Inc., may be reaching out into the online casino world. It has been stated that Chief Executive Office for Harrah Entertainment Inc., Gary Loveman, has admitted that the company is looking to possibly jump into the online poker market in Europe.

“If you take a look at the legal landscape in continental Europe and the United Kingdom, there are countries where it’s demonstrably legal and there’s absolutely no encumbrance,” explained Loveman. “Those are areas that are very attractive to us.”

It was this last week at the Global Gaming Expo that Loveman made his statements. And what better place to do it as the Global Gaming Expo just happens to be the year’s largest annual trade-show for the casino industry of North America, which is held in Las Vegas.

Currently, the United States has restrictions in place, which do not allow any banks and payment processors from processing cash transactions between online poker sites and United States players.

Spokesman for Harrah’s, Gary Thompson, has explained that for obvious reasons, they do not want to enter into any market for online poker where there are a lot of grey areas in terms of the law and what transactions can and cannot be made and who could blame them.
