Mobile gambling to hit mass-market in 2006
According to a new report published by industry research company Visiongain, the mobile gambling market is destined for a swift expansion in 2006 as online gambling operators continue developing their operations.

The report predicts that this part of the industry will really start to hit mass-market in the second quarter of this year with total mobile gambling revenue reaching over $4.26 billion by 2008.

Jean-Pierre Aubertin, author of the report added: "As regulatory, technical and other challenges are gradually resolved, gambling operators are expected to begin actively marketing mobile gambling to their customers."

Early trials of gambling via cellphones has shown that it's a viable source of revenue for UK based gambling operators such as Ladbrokes and William Hill.
