Taiwan Could Be Next Country Entering the Gambling Market
Several countries around the world are making the decision to expand their gambling offerings or to begin to offer casino and other types of gambling to their citizens for the first time. Many small as well as large countries see the benefits that gambling can bring to their country in revenues and business. If handled properly a country can benefit greatly by entering the gambling market.

It seems as though the country of Taiwan may be the next to enter the casino gambling market. The countries Parliament is said to be approving three resort casinos for the country by the end of the year. The economy in Taiwan is going downhill very rapidly and adding casinos to the mix could help them jumpstart a rise in their economy.

Although the Parliament may approve the casinos it may be some time before the country can find a developer for the project. Many casino developers do not get involved as of late during the current global credit crisis.

If the plan does come into fruition then the Taiwan market would be in competition with the Asian casino market which has seen a boom as Macau has become the casino capital of the world. The mayor of Makung, Su Kun-hsiung of Taiwan stated: “We don’t want to exceed three licenses. We’re not going to be Macau.”

It seems as though the country just wants to rise the economy and not become a large casino gambling capital.
